We are excited to invite you to the Hoʻomākaukau Opening Ceremony Luau, a night of celebration, entertainment, and fun activities to kick off the TransPacific Volleyball Championships!

This special event will take place at the stunning Ala Moana Shopping Center, Diamond Head Wing, with an ocean view (2-minute walk from the Ala Moana Hotel). It will be an outdoor celebration filled with Hawaiian culture, food, exciting performances, fun activities, and prizes, so don’t miss the chance to be part of it!

  • Time: 5:00pm – 8:30pm
  • Schedule:
    • 5:00pm – Doors Open
    • 5:30–6:30pm – Dinner Service
      • Live music by Waimānalo Sunset Band
    • 6:30–7:30pm – Performance by Kapena
      • One of Hawaiʻi’s most iconic and world-famous Hawaiian bands, Kapena is known for blending island music with contemporary and reggae influences and has been entertaining audiences for decades.
    • 7:30–8:30pm – Polynesian Cultural Center Performance
      • Experience dynamic storytelling through music and dance, showcasing Polynesian traditions from across the Pacific, performed by artists from the world-renowned Polynesian Cultural Center.

    • NCAA D1 Men’s Volleyball Game: Hawaii (UH) vs Rockhurst University + Transportation from Hawaii Convention Center to Stan Sherrif Center and back.
    • Pick-up at 9:30am. Game is at 11:00am. Drop-off after the game.
